The Road Rally is designed as a fun family event and really easy to participate in. It is just like a scavenger hunt on wheels.

Instructions are given to you as you leave the launch site (City Administration Parking Lot Corner Boulevard & First) and you are directed all around the city answering questions as you go.

The course lasts from one to two hours. The car with the most correct answers and having the closest time and mileage to the ideal time and mileage is declared the winner.

It is important to realize that this is NOT a race but a timed event. Finishing too fast is just as bad as finishing too slow.

All traffic laws must be obeyed or your time and mileage will be penalized. We have even been known to hand out speeding tickets.

The rally is also not an old car exclusive. People have come in old cars, but everything from pickups to station wagons and motorcycles have been entered in the past. If it runs and can go 35-65 miles without stopping, it will work!

The 2009 Road Rally will be held Sunday, June 28. Registration will begin at 11:30am. The first car will leave at noon. Also you can sign up to start at noon, 12:30, or 1pm???

The entrance fee is $7.00 per car and prizes will be awarded to the top ten finishers along with a few booby prizes. There must be at least two people - a driver and a navigator - in each car.

Many cars actually have several people in them. The more eyes looking, the better. Also, some questions are designed with kids in mind.

But, there is one word of warning: The Road Rally has tested people's relationships and marriages in the past...and will undoubtedly do so in the future.

As you can see, sense of direction, logic and commen sense all come into play. Some answers are easy, others are tricky. The challenge is there for you to take.
